The PIA11 confernce forms the background for the special issue entitled "Photogrammetric Image Analysis" to be published in Photogrammetrie - Fernerkundung - Geoinformation (PFG), the peer reviewed journal of the German Society for Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Geoinformation (DGPF). All members of the DGPF receive the PFG free of charge. PFG is indexed in the SCOPUS Index and Science Citation Index.

Topics

While the special issue will build upon presentations given at PIA11, the call is of course open to all authors in the field. Contributions to the special issue are invited to come from one of the following fields:

• 2d and 3d object extraction, e.g.
• Building reconstruction and 3d city modeling
• Roads extraction, vehicle detection and traffic monitoring
• Vegetation extraction and classification
• People detection and crowd analysis
• using sensors such as
• Digital cameras (visible, near and thermal infrared)
• LiDAR (multi pulse, full waveform, TOF camera)
• Radar (SAR, InSAR, PolSAR)
• on platforms such as
• Satellites
• Aircrafts, UAVs
• Cars, robots, handheld platforms
• Terrestrial (outdoor, indoor, close-range)
• Surface modeling and reconstruction
• Surveillance and change detection
• Learning and statistical methods for object extraction
• Automated sensor orientation and calibration
• Tracking in image sequences and videos
• Ego-motion determination for navigation and scene reconstruction
• Sensor and data fusion including information from GIS, BIM, or CAD

Note to authors of workshop papers

PFG encourages authors to consider submitting an extended and/or modified version of the workshop paper for possible publication. Note that a submission cannot simply be a repetition of material already published in the workshop proceedings. An explanation of the difference between the workshop paper and the version offered to PFG should be given in an accompanying letter.

Papers submitted for the special issue should be written in English. Papers should be submitted to rottensteiner@ipi.uni-hannover.de before March 1st, 2012; for author guidelines see
